It's Hard To Ask For Help...
I understand….been there, done that, got the T-shirt (it had holes in it!)
B-R-O-K-E! (If you had Googled “Broke” back then, my picture would have been next to it!)
No money. Lost my house. No business. Starting over.
As Chris Gardner described in “The Pursuit of Happyness” this part of my life was called, “Painful“.
I believe that people come into our lives at certain times for a reason. You may or may not believe that, I respect your beliefs and hope that you will do the same.
“Scott” was someone that I was BLESSED to meet one day. He had a succesful business. “Scott” didn’t give me money. He gave me something much more valuable – he gave me a few minutes of his time and bought me a cup of coffee. and explained he had been in a similar situation years before. Looking at the jewelry he wore, the way he was dressed, and seeing the car that he had arrived in, it was hard to imagine that he was ever as desperate for money and behind on bills as I was.
Do you know the reason that God gave you two ears and one mouth….so that you do twice as much “listening” as “talking”,
I listened as Scott drew on a napkin how he had gone from B-R-O-K-E to getting back on his feet to getting ahead. It didn’t require an investment,
just sweat, hustle and effort.
I did exactly as he outlined (kept that napkin for years to remind me). Did it work perfectly? No. I failed several times…..but as Maya Agelou so famously said:
“I did the best I could with what I knew. When I knew better I did better!”
Within 90 days I had bills caught up, money in the bank, and was making pretty good money.
So, trust me, I understand better than most people how hard it is to ask for help.
I also understand and believe in the old statement “Give A Man A Fish, You Feed Him For A Day, Teach Him To Fish, You Feed Him For A Lifetime”!
When “Scott”, who was a total stranger, crossed paths with me, he didn’t give me money or “feed me a fish”….he showed me “How to catch fish”. Big difference.
That’s what our program can do for you.
